David Norman King

David Norman King, 67, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Mary Washington Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Spotsylvania County, David was the son of Norman G. King and Amy Charlotte Thomas King. He graduated from Spotsylvania High School and attended Germanna Community College. David did landscaping work, sold firewood, and did construction work on the Washington, D.C. Metro system when it was being built. David had encyclopedic knowledge of and strong opinions on many topics. He was an avid guitar player and music lover.

He is survived by his two stepchildren, Michael Stanley and Tammy Damon (William); five step-grandchildren including his neighbor, Sean LoPorto (Sydnie); and a number of cousins including Edward W. C. King, Steven Thomas, Carolyn Thomas Carmichael (Dick), and Mary Thomas Crane. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay F. King; his parents; and his sister, Charlotte Ann King

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Covenant Funeral Service, 10830 Patriot Highway, Fredericksburg.
