Gary Carle Obituary

Gary Lee Carle

Gary Lee Carle, 65, of King George County died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Carle was born in Baltimore, Md., on July 18, 1941, and had retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, where he worked as a combat systems engineer.

He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church, United States Naval Academy Class of 1964, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Class of 1992.

Mr. Carle was preceded in death by his parents, G. Marion and Ethel Carle.

He is survived by wife, Sue H. Carle of King George; two daughters, Catherine and her husband, Jonathan Lyon, of King George and Deborah and her husband, Scott Pound, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Sharon and her husband, Reuben Morningstar, of Westminster, Md.; four granddaughters; and one grandson.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 4, at Oakland Baptist Church in King George, with Pastor Guy Mattox and Pastor Cliff Hedges officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Baptist Church cemetery.

A visitation will occur on Sunday, June 3, at Nash and Slaw Funeral Home, King George, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made in the name of Gary L. Carle, Class of 1964, to the United States Naval Academy Foundation via USNAF Gift Processing, 291 Wood Road, Annapolis, Md. 21402.
