Margaret V. Embrey

Margaret V. Embrey, 94, passed away peacefully and went to her heavenly home on Monday, May 27, 2024. Margaret was born on October 17, 1929 to the late Ben and Dora Carter.

Margaret was a resident of Stafford, VA, for many years, including her retirement years, following a career in the United States federal civil service. She spent the last eight years residing at The Culpeper in Culpeper, VA. Margaret was a faithful member of Ramoth Baptist Church where she was a blessing to many and is fondly remembered for her delicious dishes at church functions.

She is survived by her stepsons, Terry Bruce Embrey (Lori) and Jeffrey Barnes Embrey (Kathy); two stepgrandchildren, Tamara Embrey-Czarnik (Simone) and Kaitlin Embrey; two step great-grandchildren, Elisha and Ariella Pardue; brother-in-law Charles Embrey (Jo); sisters-in-law Nancy E. Bryant and Kathryn E. Limerick; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Newman Embrey; and siblings Theada Dofflemoyer, Frank Carter, and Bill Carter.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Ramoth Baptist Church Cemetery (478 Ramoth Church Rd., Stafford, VA 22554).
