Edith Smith Obituary
EDITH SCHINDLER age 93, of Milford, Michigan passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2017, in Bonita Springs, Florida, surrounded by family. She was born December 28th, 1923, to the late Edwin and Ida (Brown) Schindler in Ashland, Wisconsin. Edith held a degree in Secondary Education and accepted a position teaching high school history in Milford, MI. Edith served as a Deacon and Elder in the Milford Presbyterian Church. She also taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Milford Literary Club, as well as Milford Township Library Board. She was also a longtime member of the local chapter of Questers. Edith was married to the late Robert W. Smith for 68 years. They spent many years sailing the Great Lakes and wintering in Bonita Springs, FL. Survivors include four children, Bruce and Cathy Smith, Dan and Christine Smith, Jean McCormick and Susanna and Michael Hubert, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home.
