Ms. Garret was my Kindergarten teacher, and my summer camp counselor, at first. She helped me through one of the toughest times in my life: dealing with severe anxiety as a preschooler. At the time, I was upset at her hard but truly helpful teachings. She was a light in the darkness for me until I was able to overcome my anxiety. She became the awesome family friend who didn't yell when I broke that window at summer camp, it was an archery accident of course. Her constant "capisce" and her love of dominos was great. I will truly miss Ms. Kelly Garrett, but she will forever be in my heart.

My first encounter with Kelly at church was a stern warning about where I parked my car. Later I was thankful for the teaching of adherence to authority. She gave discipline with love and lots of humor. She had her own language of words that my girls knew but I had never heard! I watched as she calmed a room of 3-4 year olds immediately and captured their attention. She taught me every trick I know about how to manage a group of children. She gave my girls (now 22 and 17) their start in school and helped me navigate entrance into public school. We were close for awhile and then drifted apart - caught up in our troubles. She was a bright light, giving and caring for others. Such a good listener and willing to help. She cared about people - at a deep level. I am sad she is gone but know heaven is the best place for all of us. I will join her there when God calls me home. I look forward to that day. Much love and affection, Susan

Ms. Garrett became apart of my life at age 2.5 in the year 1995. I will never forget her using the word "capisce" after she gave you a stern talking to about what you did wrong! She was a wonderful woman and a excellent leader. She will be missed greatly.

Although I did not know Kelly for long, she and I shared a love for movies and I will never forget our time at the Ford Drive In and our movie night at her condo. She was a loving and caring person and I pray that she is wrapped in Angel Wings now and surrounded by love and peace. I will miss you Kelly.
