Shelby Township - Kenneth C. Barr passed away on December 31, 2017, at the age of 79, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 2, 1938 to Charles D. and Mary (Youngblood) in Detroit. Beloved husband of Carol for 57 loving years. Loving and dedicated father of Kathleen A. Bollenberg, James C. Barr, Karen L. (Joseph) Palleschi and Keith (Michelle) Barr. Proud and loving grandfather of Jessica (Mark) Strek, Brian, Kenneth, Cameron, Jeffrey, Kevin, Carolyn, Joseph, Charles, Madalyn, Grace, Kyle, Michael and Mary and proud great grandfather of Mason Strek. Dear brother of David (Susan), William (Diane), Gary (Lynn) and Denise (Gerald) Rossi. Ken was a longtime business owner in the Tool & Die Industry. He also loved to cook for his family, enjoyed golfing, earned a pilot license, and held a Real Estate License, but more importantly he was devoted to his faith and his family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation Thursday from 3-8 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (N. of 22 Mile Rd.) Shelby Twp. Instate Friday at church at 9:00 a.m. until a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Michael Church, 40501 Hayes (between 17 and 18 Mile Rd.), Sterling Heights. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeview Michigan at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott St. Detroit, MI 48207

Dear Jim and Family,
I have nothing but the fondest memories of your father. He was always a thoughtful gentleman with a calm demeanor that made everyone around him feel welcomed, happy, and at ease. I'm sure he took incredible joy in every aspect of being a husband, father, and grandfather. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

My sympathies to the Barr family. I have memories of Mr. Barr being a very friendly and kind person. I remember him letting me hitch a ride to school with Keith and reminding me and Keith to go outside if we were wasting time watching TV on nice days. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of loss.
