Ross Fowler Obituary
Detroit - CDR Ross Lamar Fowler Jr., U.S. Coast Guard Reserves (retired), of Detroit, died July 12, 2018, at age 88. Beloved husband of B. Yvonne Fowler, father to Jennifer Greene Stevens, M.D., (Charles Stevens), L. Conrad Greene and Thomas J. Greene III (deceased); brother of David Lamar Fowler; grandfather to William Stevens and David Stevens; and uncle to Greg L. Fowler, Gary L. Fowler, Shelley M. Fowler, David M. Fowler and many other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. July 28 at Cole Funeral Home, 16100 Schaefer Hwy., Detroit. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Negro College Fund or the Coast Guard Foundation's scholarship for the Children of Enlisted Coast Guard Members.

I am saddened to read about the passing of Ross Fowler. I met Ross through civil war reenacting. I was with the 17th Mi Co. E and Ross was with the 102 USCT. I remember Ross having a love and passion of the civil war and how he enjoyed educating the young and old. I will always cherish the memories and photos of Ross Fowler. He will be truly missed by all. Rest In Peace my Friend.
