OAKLAND -- Blondell M. Meyer, 90 years, of Oakland passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 in Oakland. She was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Hooper to Clyde and Ella (Lackus) Morton.
She was a graduate of Hooper High School and attended Midland College. She married John Omelianuk in 1945 in Oakland, Calif. In 1987, she married William Meyer in Fremont. Blondell was employed at Midland Lutheran College in their Food Service.
Member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Fremont, FOE Auxiliary 1834, Columbus, a former member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church of Omaha. She enjoyed her bowling league.
Survived by son, John (Jeannie) Omel, San Jose, California; daughter, Joan (Rod) Wiese, Oakland; brothers, Clyde (Pam) Morton, Daytona Beach, Florida, Riley (Linda) Morton, Fremont; sisters, Betty Niess, Fremont, Beverly (Norm) Pesicka, Laguna Niguel, California, JoElla (Bob) Turek, Fountain Valley, California; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents; two husbands; son, Michael Omel; brother, James Morton; brother-in-law, Ted Niess; nephews, Daniel and Douglas Morton; niece, Tera Lynn Morton.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., all at Moser Memorial Chapel. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Association.
