Brian Sass Obituary

Brian Kelly Sass, 65, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025. He was born in Fremont, Nebraska on October 6, 1959, to Geraldine and Wallace Sass and raised in the house his father built. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1978, completed his Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at Southeast Community College – Milford. In 1980, he moved to Houston, Texas to work with Stewart and Stevenson.

In 1981, he married his former wife, Susan Ellen Abrahams. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Kelly, Natalie, and Jenny.

In 2005, Brian received his Journeyman Electrician license. He spent the majority of his career at Dashiell Corporation, where he retired as an Electrical Inspector in April 2024 after 36 years of service.

Brian and Cynthia Van Court started dating in 2000. Natalie Sass and Brooke Van Court set up a surprise date at Casa Ole. They were married in 2007 and started their journey together. They loved traveling whenever possible, spending time with family and friends and spoiling their grandchildren! Brian loved Nebraska football, grilling and smoking meat. His most favorite past time was being "Opa!"

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Sass of League City, TX; son, Kelly Sass of Richmond, VA; daughters, Natalie (Stetson) Feller of Fort Pierre, SD, and Jenny (Jaime) Sass of Conroe, TX, stepson, Adrian (Trish) Van Court of League City, TX; stepdaughter, Brooke (Steve) Smith of Austin, TX; and four grandchildren, Tristan Van Court, Aeon Van Court, Forrest Feller and Travis Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Geraldine in 2006 and Wallace in 2013.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. CDT, Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hearing Health Foundation. Online: Donors can also give through our website at: https://hearinghealthfoundation.org/donate. There is an option to dedicate the donation in someone's memory.
