Gerald Wisner Obituary

Gerald Wisner, 79, of Fremont, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, in Chandler, Ariz., at Blue Sky Manor with his family at his side.

He was born Aug. 23, 1931, to Glen and Chloe (Smith) Wisner in Fremont. Gerald married Carrie Dryden Oct. 16, 1953, in Fremont. He attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Fremont. Gerald was a member of the Fremont Anglers Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club. He owned and operated Wisner's Sport Supply Inc. with his wife, Carrie, for 48 years.

Gerald was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed both sports with his wife. When he was not working at his store, he loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife, Carrie; one daughter, Vicki (and husband Scott) Dart; three grandchildren, Lisa, Tyler (and fiance, Amanda) and Nicole and four great-grandchildren, all of Arizona; two sisters, Jean Wheatley of Omaha and Twyla (and husband, Chuck) Andreason of Crete.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held in Arizona on Sunday and further services will be held in Fremont at a later date.
