Julie Anne Gabrukiewicz Dykman, 48, of Fremont died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, in Fremont.
She was born on Aug. 30, 1965, in Fremont to Edward F. (Gabby) and Marcia A. (Rice) Gabrukiewicz.
Julie was a 1983 graduate of Fremont Senior High School. She earned a cosmetology license in 1985 from the College of Hair Design in Lincoln. Julie also took courses at Metropolitan Community College and received a medication aide license in 2010.
She married Dave Dykman on May 28, 1994, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. The couple later divorced.
Julie was a lifelong resident of Fremont. She worked for Eastern Nebraska Community Office of Retardation (ENCOR) for 17 years as a direct support staff member and a vocational supervisor. She also worked at St. Patrick's Catholic Church from 2010 to 2014.
She was active in St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Archbishop Bergan Catholic School Booster Club.
Survivors include: her children, Adam Dykman, 17, and Alison Dykman, 14, both of Fremont; her ex-husband, Dave Dykman of Fremont; sisters, Dianne (Keith) Bystrom of Ames, Iowa, and Paula (A.E. Casey) Hermanson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brothers, E. Jay (Evelyn) Gabrukiewicz of Fremont and Thom Gabrukiewicz of Buffalo, Wyo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont with the Revs. Jim Keiter and Dave Belt officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Adam and Ali Dykman Education Fund, in care of Dave Dykman.
