Louis Thernes Obituary

July 6, 1937 – June 26, 2018

Louis A. "Louie" Thernes, age 80, of Hooper died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Providence Place in Fremont.

Survivors: wife, Sharon of Hooper; son, David (LaRae) Thernes of Hooper; daughter-in-law, Jill Thernes-Karloff of Omaha; son, Dean (Tammy) Thernes of Norfolk; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny (Berniece) Thernes of Hooper; sisters, Marjorie (Arlen) Gnuse of Fremont, Julene (Larry) Karloff of Yutan and Janice Bopp of Hooper; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Gerald) Bohling of Hooper and Donna (John) Kriete of Hooper.

Louis was preceded in death by his son, Danny; brother, LeRoy; brothers-in-law, Willie Bopp and Wayne Bartling.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. Burial will follow in Hooper Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 18 and VFW Post 10535 of Hooper. Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fremont Area Alzheimer's Collaboration or Dodge County Fair. Visitation will be Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
