Randy J. Silvey, 54, of Craig died Friday, March 19, 2010, at his home following a battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 29, 1955, in Omaha to Everett and Velma (Myers) Silvey. He moved to Craig with his parents when he was in grade school. He attended Oakland-Craig High School. He married Nancy Booze on June 3, 1983, in Fremont. They lived in Fremont and surrounding areas until 1996, when they moved to a farm home outside of Uehling. In 2006, they moved back home to Craig. He worked at Warrick Hawkinson Tread Co., Robinson Seed Co. and recently at Goodwill Industries.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy of Craig; son, Randal Silvey of Omaha; four daughters and son-in-law, Aleina Martinez of Fremont, Rachel and Matt Brandenburg of Yokota AB Japan, Heather Silvey of Oakland and Robyn Silvey of Uehling; six grandchildren; a brother, Larry Silvey of Omaha; and sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Lee Andresen of Wahoo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland with the Rev. Mark Eldal officiating. Memorial visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. Burial will be in Craig Cemetery at a later date.
