Raymond Stanley "Ray" Ksiazek
February 21, 1940 - July 29, 2025
Raymond Stanley "Ray" Ksiazek, 85, of Fremont, Neb., passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Nye legacy in Fremont.
Ray was born on February 21, 1940, in Omaha, Neb., to Thaddeus Ted "Ben" and Claire Barbara (Kielbasa) Ksiazek. He married Anita Alice Molczyk, of Albion, Neb., September 7, 1963, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Columbus, Neb., and lived in Lincoln, Neb.
Ray grew up on the family farm near Clarks, Neb. and performed many farm chores. He graduated from Clarks High School, class of 1958. In 1962, he earned his degree in chemistry at Wayne State University. Over the years, Ray worked for the University of Nebraska at Lincoln as a student instructor, Wilson Foods in Omaha and CF Industries in Fremont, Neb. as a chemist.
Ray and his wife, Anita, lived in Lincoln, Omaha, and later resided in Fremont. In April of 2019, Ray moved to Nye Legacy Nursing Home, where he was so well loved and cared for by the staff, residents and nurses. He spent most of his days at the nursing home coloring, reading, playing cards and games, listening to music and watching TV.
Throughout Ray and Anita's lives, they ensured that trees and flowers were planted, no matter where they resided. They enjoyed the domestic wildlife of birds, squirrels and bunnies. They believed life was better with trees and flowers, so they planted them in their children's names, at their first house in Fremont.
Ray enjoyed music. He played the cornet in band and was in choir, along with many other activities. He was Class President of his junior class in high school. He also played basketball and football. He even took a trip with his mother, Claire, to New York to see Radio City Music Hall.
Ray loved visiting with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His house was also home to having them visit and stay with them on occasion. Ray and Anita took care of Ray's dad, Ted, when he was battling leukemia and couldn't stay at the farmhouse in Clarks anymore.
Ray and Anita loved to travel and visit Michael in South Carolina and Dan during his Army years. Trips were taken to California by train and plane, Estes Park, Pike's Peak, Tetons, and Needles in Colorado, and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. They loved listening to country music in Branson, Mo.
Ray was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont, making numerous time and monetary donations. Anita would make many desserts and dishes for the St. Pat's Annual Festival and funerals. The couple even won a car at the festival, later donating a cash equivalent back to the church.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anita Alice (Molczyk) Ksiazek; daughter, Laurie Ann Ksiazek-Sok; in-laws, Thomas Michael and Anna Dorothy (Barnas) Molczyk.
He is survived by sons, Michael R. (Tamara), Brian E. (Brenda) and Daniel S. Ksiazek; grandchildren, Zach Ksiazek, Celena (Zachary) Thiessen, Danny (Dunlap) Ksiazek, Jake (Alicia) Sok and Kelli (Timothy) Sok; and great-grandchildren, Caylee, Violet, Aspen, Alexis Raine, Erica, Isaac James.
