ADELA RENTERIA-PRICOLA
Adela passed away peacefully at the age of 79 in her home at Sunrise Assisted Living on Monday, August 23, 2004. Adela was born on April 3, 1925, in Fresno, CA. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, nurturing grandmother and exceptional homemaker. Her legacy will be her unwavering passion for family and friends in addition to her vibrant personality, which enabled her to enhance every life she touched with humorous joy and laughter. Her free spirit and tremendous sense of humor were only surpassed by her overwhelming generosity and thoughtful nature. As a gourmet cook, she was well known for her great menus and enough food to serve everyone who came to visit. She possessed an amazing type of vitality and an uncanny ability to share it with others. The world will be a lesser place without the graciousness of her love, and she will be dearly missed. Her husband of 52 years, Nick A. Pricola, former Mayor, Councilman and business leader of Brawley, CA preceded her in death. The entire Pricola family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Sunrise Assisted Living of Fresno management and for the outstanding quality of care they provided and the abundance of genuine affection they possessed for Adela. Please know that all of you were very dear to her heart. Additionally, we extend equal appreciation to St. Agnes Hospice for their exemplary services and a special note of thanks to Gina Raymond and Nancy Kimura of PCA Healthcare Service for their angelic hearts. She is survived by her son, Nick C. Pricola of Brawley; and her daughters, Darlene Starkel and her husband John of Fresno, CA and Maria V. Pricola of Brawley. In addition, her survivors include her three granddaughters, Giovanna Reyes and Marina Pricola of Brawley and Andrea Starkel-Smith and husband Bill of Pacifica, CA; and her grandson, David Starkel of Fresno. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Mary Jarmillo and her husband Vincent of Pittsburg, CA, Angie Vigil of Pittsburg, Lupe Garcia of Fresno, Sally Mata and her husband Leonard of Castro Valley, Jessie and Robert Sergeant of San Diego; and her brothers, Frank Renteria of Fresno and Benny Renteria of Tijuana; her sisters-in-law, Matilda Galvani, Toni Ghilotti of Fresno, Maria Elena Pricola of Brawley, plus numerous nephews and nieces.
