Bill Cowin Obituary

BILL COWIN Bill Cowin, age 51, beloved father, grandfather, son, grandson and brother passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 17, 2003, in Golden, MO. Bill was born on November 3, 1951, in Fresno, CA. Bill graduated from Fresno Adult School and continued his education at 4C's Business College with an AA degree in Career Accounting. He was married to Virginia Louise Wesson for 18 years until her death in 1990. For many years Bill worked for Wathen Brothers Construction and then for Fresno Irrigation until his wife's death in 1990, at which time he moved back east and settled in Golden, MO where he worked for Cowin Construction until he gained employment with Tyson Corporation. He quickly became night lead in the maintenance department where he was respected and loved by co-workers as well as management. Bill was known throughout the plant as, "I-will-get-it-done Bill". He was a devout Christian and studied many hours as an Associate Pastor. Bill's kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness as well as his firm but gentle philosophies, his booming voice and roaring laughter will ever be remembered by all who knew him. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Jeri Lyn Cowin, and Teri Atkins; grandchildren, Crystal, Brian and Jason; mother, Gwen Galvan; father, George Galvan grandmother Rose Sheets; five brothers, Leon, Ken, Mike, Daniel, and George Cowin; as well as his brothers wives, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. Farewell Bill, until we meet again with Christ our Lord "We Love you"! A Funeral Services will be held at Northpark Community Church, 2297 E. Shepard, in Fresno on Thursday September 25, 2003, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Clovis District Cemetery. Remembrances are asked to be made to West Care Nevada, 401 S. Martin Luther King, Las Vegas NV 89106.
