Charles Swimmer Obituary

Swimmer, Charles R. SAN DIEGO -- Charles R. Swimmer was born in Canton, Ohio, on October 13, 1941, to Esther and Maurice Swimmer. He was a miracle child who during his youth developed six serious diseases and came through this ordeal, as his mother said, he was destined to do good. "Chuck" Swimmer came to California where he met Carol Feurzeig, and they have been happily married for 48 years. Chuck founded Charco Construction Corporation, in January 1966, built on his integrity and honor. He has won many awards in this industry. In 2002, he followed his passion for exotic automobiles and opened The San Diego Collection where people from all over the world have come to bring home one of his prestigious vehicles. He always has kept his heart in serving the community of San Diego by being active in many organizations including serving on the board of Better Business Bureau and Chip 11-99 California Highway Patrol, which supports children of fallen officers. His short life of 72 years will never be forgotten by his daughters Rachel Flores and Lisa Neichin, grandchildren Alexis, Sophia, Isabelle, Max, Kelsey and Jonas. His two sons-in-law, became so much more to him, Dr. Barry Neichin and Armando Flores. He will always be remembered by his two sisters Barbara Abramovitz and Kandis Landmann and her son Seth, and brother David Swimmer with so much love as he was one of the kindest souls that God put on this earth. Bless you dear, may you rest in peace. Services will be held at Temple Beth Israel at 10 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2013.

We were shocked by the news of Chucks passing. He was a business client, friend, and my buddy. I always tried to put a smile on his face. Here is the Auction "rat pack", Chuck, Dean Kruse, Mickey Weise, and Dave Smith. I will always respect him and remember him. Mickey Weise

I was so shocked when I heard of Chuck's passing last week, that it has taken me till now to go to the Guest Book. I sent a card to you last week as soon as I heard, but haven't wanted to call and disturb you and the family. Even though we haven't seen you that often over the years, it was always so great when we did get together with you and Chuck. Chuck was always so nice and fun to be around. You and your family our in our thoughts, and I hope to be able to speak to you personally very soon.
Always, Sharon & Rick Leibl

To Carol and all the family, I send my condolences to you on the loss of your husband/father/grandfather. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Your family has suffered just so much loss these past few years. Feel comfort in those around you and in knowing you've got some terrific guardian angels watching over and protecting you from above.

I originally met Chuck over 50 years ago when he rode into town and got his first job working for my Dad, Derek Morris selling room additions. I was in High School running permits in the old days but Chuck was always very friendly to me. As the years went on and Chuck started Charco, he and Carol remained great friends to my parents inviting them in many events. Chuck and I stayed connected over the years and when my wife and I needed a major room addition, the only person we called was Chuck. With Armando's amazing guidance, our beach home was transformed into a showcase home.
As I experienced success in business, I always admired all that Chuck accomplished over the years. He took me through his car museum a few times and it was obvious those cars were a great source of enjoyment and pride to him.
His family however, was always his number one priority.
I regret not spending more time with Chuck but I am a much better man for knowing him. I'm hoping he's sitting up in heaven having a cocktail with my Mom and Dad...
My thoughts and prayers are with Carol and the family.

We only knew Chuck from the addition he put on our house a few years ago,but I rarely go into that room without thinking of him. I thought I wouldn't find anyone who would take on the project as I envisioned it, yet he did it beautifully and even better than I'd hoped thanks to his vision. What a kind, generous soul he was, with a wonderful personal touch. His confidence and expertise and desire to give us an excellent result were a great encouragement to us thruout our relationship with his company, and the people who worked for him were all outstanding and had great respect for him. My wife was greatly saddened when she heard of his passing. I am sorry I never got to thank him when the job was finished, or to ask him if he knew Jeshua Meshiach.
