CLAYTON CARPENTER Obituary

Clayton, a beloved father, son, brother, and uncle passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2015, in a traffic accident, while working at his job as a journeyman electrician. Clayton was born on December 29, 1957, in Bremerton, WA to Frank and Catherine "Connie" Carpenter. His family moved to Fresno in 1958, where he grew up, attended school and learned the electrical trade from his father. Clayton attended Fresno Adventist Academy and Auburn Adventist Academy in Washington. Clayton was known for his sense of humor, his quick wit, artistic talent, and love for his family and friends. He never met a stray dog he didn't like, and he was always ready and willing to help someone in need. Clayton was one of a kind, and he will be tremendously missed by all those who knew and loved him. Clayton is survived by his son, Clayton Ray II; and daughter-in-law Christen. He is also survived by his parents, Frank and Connie Carpenter; grandmother, Agnes Constable; sister, Cathie Jones and her husband Peter; brothers, Kevin and his wife Colleen, and Kendall and his wife Linda; sister, Carlyn Murdock; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nephews, nieces, and close friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fresno Adventist Academy Mansion Grove, 5397 E. Olive Avenue, on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 4:00 p.m., to laugh, love and remember Clayton and all he means to us. Hey buddy, I still think of you often missing all the good times that we shared together. I went to the cemetery the other day and visited your head stone, and I made sure it was clean and taken care of. You will always remain in my heart as a good friend.

Clayton was a great and talented guy. I watched him grow up, and as an adult he did some electrical work at our home. I pray God will comfort you, and He promises that you will see Clayton, again!

Frank and Connie;
I used to babysit for you in the 60's. I worked for Frank Mitchell and am retired. I am so sorry for your loss. I used to get a kick out of your kids, my mom stopped by one day to check on me and they would tell my mom that her "smoking would kill her." Clayton was a very handsome young man. I lived on Gettysburg between Clovis & Sunnyside. My maiden name was Janet Grant. Again I am so sorry for your loss.

I was truly shocked and saddened by the news. I knew him since grade school and high school and was looking forward to our high school reunion. He was a good friend with a great heart, an amazing sense of humor and quick wit. I am honored to have known him and he is truly missed. Prayers for the family during this time of loss. May we all be comforted in knowing that heaven awaits.

Although I only knew Clayton for a short time, I was amazed at his artistic ability, and his always being in a good mood, with a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and all who loved him. Rest in peace Clayton.

I am so sad that the world has lost this man. Clayton was my stepfather when I was younger. He was so much fun, so intelligent, and such a great artist. Much of who I am today is because of him. It always put a smile on my face to hear from him, and I am so thankful to have had a great conversation with him just days before his passing. I know he is still smiling, and still laughing, and still loves us all as much as we love him. He will be deeply missed.

I met Clayton through his and my best friend Casey about 19 years ago. In those 19 years I can honestly say I never once saw him without a smile on his face. Clayton was definatlly one of a kind , always always crackin jokes and making people laugh. His artistic ability(which I hear he got from his mom) was absolutlly amazing , and his electricle ability (he got from his dad) equally amazing. I cant tell you how many times I would call Casey for help on anything from my car to putting in ceiling fans to a circuit breaker right next to my apparment door exploading and Casey and Clayton would come to my rescue. My two daughters loved Clayton he would amaze them everytime he saw them. When I told them what had happened my oldest daughters in tears said " mom how did this happen my heart is broken" my youngest daughter said " but Clayton and Casey are like super heroes out of everyone in the world I thought they would be here forever". He will be GREATLY MISSED. However I know he's got GOD laughing up in heaven and I'm quite certain Clayton has already done an Ethch-a-Sketch portrait of GOD himself which Clayton will proudly show us all one at a time as we meet up with him again in heaven. We love u Clayton.

He didn't know I took this.
