Visalia, California - Diana Mary Liley passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025 at her home in Visalia, California at the age of 84 from complications of a stroke. As a beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 22 years, Eric Hedlund, and her son, Nic Liley.

Diana was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 11, 1941 to Ada Mary Judd (Judy). She moved to Los Angeles California where she later graduated from California State University at Dominguez Hills in 1975 becoming a nurse. Also in 1975, after her mother remarried, she was adopted by Robert LaVerne Liley and had her name updated. Diana went back to school and became a nurse anesthetist. Diana was a member of the first graduating medical class of the 'Charles R. Drew' medical school at UCLA in 1985. During this time she served for 5 years in the Airforce reserves with the rank of Major. Diana did her internship and residency in Anesthesiology in Watts, a neighborhood of Los Angeles. In 1991 she moved to Visalia, California and worked as an anesthesiologist at Kaweah Delta Medical Center, then in 1994 she worked for the Cypress Surgery Center (now Sequoia Surgery Center) and finally in 2003 she worked at Noble Surgery Center until she retired in 2013. She had a long and prosperous career.

Diana loved to travel abroad, play video games, read books with her dogs on her lap, and collect dolls. She was bright, kind, and quick witted. She will be deeply missed. A memorial in her honor was held at her home on July 19th, 2025.
