ELSIE BAKER

Elsie was born on March 26, 1915 to Volga German immigrants, August and Marie Schwabenland, and passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the age of 97. The family settled in the Easton area with their four daughters and one son. Elsie attended Washington Union High School. Elsie married Harry Baker on March 21, 1936. They lived in Fresno and later farmed in the Fowler area. As a young woman, Elsie worked at Sun Maid Raisin Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son, Bill Baker; daughter, Judy DeBenedetto; granddaughter, Annemarie DeBenedetto; sisters, Ann Wagner and Margaret Nellist; and brother, Richard Schwabenland. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lehman and her husband, Bill; son, Robert Baker; son-in-law, Maury De- Benedetto; sister, Alice Kaiser and husband, George; grandchildren, Maury, Matt, Mark and Lisa DeBenedetto, Andrew and John Howe; and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Wallin's Fowler Funeral Home, on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Washington Colony Cemetery, on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. Remembrances may be made to Twilight Haven, 1717 S.
