I just found out today of Franks passing. I am a neighbor who on my routine jogs I would regularly see Frank give of himself to the neighborhood by cleaning or spraying weeds so our neighborhood would be safe and look clean. What a kind man and I am so sorry I never got to tell him what a special person he was and how much he was appreciated. I will miss not seeing him.

Growing up with "Uncle Frank" was a gas! He was actually my moms cousin, so mine too...and he and his wife, Rowena, were my closest aunt and uncle growing up!
Uncle Frank had a great smile and an incredible sense of humor which I will never forget! I remember when he would be in LA at some grape convention and he stopping by my parents house to visit, it was always a treat. Sometimes, in the summer, I would have the privilege to go back to Fresno with him! He would always drive much faster than my father, so the trip never seemed that long! I would get to stay with him and the family for a few days to visit my cousins' Hugh, Ken, Larry, and John. I give Aunt Rowena a whole lot of credit for dealing with 5 young boys at that time.
I remember Uncle Franks' old Jaguar that he kept working on over the years...I always enjoyed sitting in it with it's real wood dash and authentic gauges pretending with my cousins that I was participating in an old road race, kind of like the one I remember at the beginning of the movie, Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang!
I always enjoyed visiting the Hustedde home, it was always full of life and many things to see and do...including their various farm animals that I would enjoy since I never experienced these animals growing up in the city!
One of the most recent memories of spending time Uncle Frank and his family that I have was when I was fortunate enough to be in Fresno one day without notice. When I showed up at the house, Frank had hitched up their lake boat and he and my cousins just took off to go water skiing at a nearby lake!
I will always cherish and be grateful of these and many other fond memories of Uncle Frank!
With Love and Appreciation,

It was a real privilege to have known Frank. He and Rowena volunteered to work Citizens on Patrol in my policing District for many years and It was a bright spot in my day when they showed up on Wednesdays. He is loved and will be greatly missed.....Sgt. Bob Lightfoot, Fresno Police Department (retired)

My heart is full of sadness and sympathy for the Hustedde family. I have many fond memories of being a recipient of wheel barrow rides, kickball games, soccer and many other sports in the front lawn and countless bicycle rides throughout the neighbor hood. I remember being just as excited to run down the driveway to greet Frank as he came home from work every day as the boys were. He gave his time, love and blackboard tutorials to all the kids on Fine street. It seems like just yesterday I saw him riding his bike down the street. I have so many fond memories of his love and generosity. I feel blessed to have known him. It was 43 years ago that my family moved to that street almost to the day and the Hustedde family welcomed our family into their home and hearts. Frank will be missed dearly but his memory will for ever be cherished. What I wouldn't give to sit next to him in the car and work the gas pedal and steering wheel one last time.
