Gabriel Ramirez Obituary

GABRIEL ROCKY RAMIREZ Gabriel Ramirez was born on November 16, 1984, in Sanger, California. He was taken from his loved ones on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, by testicular cancer, at the age of 21. Gabriel took on the fight of his life in 2005 when first diagnosed and won the first battle and went into remission. A year later the cancer came back with a fury. Gabriel continued to fight, not wanting to leave his loved ones, but the cancer consumed his internal organs. His heart beat strong and was untouched by the cancer. The family would like to thank the nursing staff on duty on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Fresno Community Hospital for their compassion and love. We would also like to thank the nursing staff at the California Cancer Center for the special attention they gave to a very special young man. Gabriel was a warrior on this earth and now is a warrior in Heaven watching over his beloved family and friends. Gabriel is survived by his mother, Lorraine Ramirez; father, Luis Martinez; brother, Luis Martinez, Jr.; sisters, Monique and Lia Martinez; maternal grandparents, Leonard and Lydia Ramirez; paternal grandparents, Carlotta and Steve Faulk and grandfather, Sando Martinez; aunts, Priscilla, Christina, Julie, Sonia, Carla and Mary; and uncles Leonard, Rene and Victor. He is also survived by many cousins, friends and extended family members. Visitation will be held at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home on Sunday, July 23, 2006, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Church Service will be held at St. Mary's New Catholic Church in Sanger on Monday, July 24, 2006, at 9:00 a.m., with interment at Sanger Cemetery. A memorial fund has been set up on behalf of Gabriel Ramirez, account number 69306 at the Fresno County Federal Union Bank, 1250 Van Ness Ave., Fresno, CA 93720. To the Family of Mr. Ramirez. Although, I did not know your son personally I can symptathize with having a sick child. I also have a 8 year old daughter with cancer. Its very hard. I hope during these difficult times that you find peace and that you understand that he is in a much better place under the wings of an Angel in our Lord's home..

Although we had not seen you in quite some time, your Aunt Sonia always let us know how you were doing..so did your Dad, Luis. Your ceremony was beautiful and a great tribute to your life. Watch over your mom, Lorraine and your dad, Luis, they need your help to overcome their sadness. Your sisters and brother need your help too. Always in our prayers, Fred and Michelle Martinez and Family
