GUY RUSSELL Obituary

Guy passed from this life on Friday, July 16, 2010, at the age of 88. Guy was born the middle child of Guy and Sidney Fern Russell in Ozone, Arkansas on January 4, 1922. He grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Fayetteville High School. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines and met Ora Lee Meacham in San Francisco while on leave. They were married after a one week courtship and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 17, 2010. Guy and Ora Lee moved to Fresno in 1945 where he began his career with Safeway Stores. He retired in 1980 after 35 years with Safeway. Guy was a wonderful husband and father who worked hard to provide for his family and showed them how to live life fully. He loved to fish, camp, water ski, dance and garden and shared those hobbies with his young family. Later, Guy took up golf and he and Ora Lee were members at Belmont Country Club until illness forced him to give it up in 2004. The family thanks God for his example, his long life, his love and the promise of seeing him again. Job 14:6-9 He is surived by Ora Lee Russell, his loving wife; his three children and their spouses, Judy and Ron Talent, Ron and Linda Russell and Jan and Wally Yoshimoto. He also leaves seven adoring grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Dee Talent, Tammy and Paul Blankenship, Staci and Mark Young, Amy Wolf, Ronnie and Brooke Russell, Brad Yoshimoto, Courtney and Ryan Inman; and ten special greatgrandchildren. Great Grandpa,
I am very blessed to have had such a wonderful great grandpa and though i wish we had more time together I am glad that you were able to live a long, happy, and healthy life. I cherish each moment that we were able to spend together, all though I wish we had more time to get to know each other, I can understand why God would want such an amazing man by his side. I will miss you.

To my wonderful brother. Thanking the Lord for the gift of such a loving wife and mother, taking wonderful care of Guy for 65 years. Thanks to the family who included me in their lives. Once the grieving process allows, Ora Lee continues golfing and her wonderful cooking! May your journey be a gentle one. Remember that our Lord and savior is always near by.
