HAROLD VANDER DUSSEN

Harold Vander Dussen was born in Fresno, CA, on January 3, 1922, and passed away on Wednesday December 21, 2016. Harold graduated from Clovis High School in 1941. He served three years in the United States Air Corps during World War II. He worked for Pacific Bell for over 30 years. Harold loved the outdoors. He was a master gardener. He was a hunter, fisherman and woodworker. He hiked the John Muir Trail to Mount Whitney two times. The family would like to thank Helen, who helped care for mom and dad during the past few years. Harold was preceded in death by Earleen, his loving wife of 64 years; his parents; and brother Clayton. He is survived by his sister Mae; brother Philip; his four children, Jeff Vander Dussen and his wife Terri, Becky Combs and her husband Steve, Sam Vander Dussen and his wife Patty, and Jackie; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan, Courtney, and Phillip and his wife Denise; and great-grandson Maxwell. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Paul Catholic Newman Center on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
