IRENE SETRAKIAN

Irene Setrakian was born on April 16, 1924, to Martin and Ozniv Adams. She went home to be with her Lord on May 24, 2013. Irene was a graduate of Fresno Technical High School and upon graduation she married her childhood sweetheart, Kirk Setrakian. Together they had a son and a daughter, Jim and Joy. Irene was a loving and devoted mother, and her love for others could be seen in her volunteer work for various organizations. Among them were Fresno Community Hospital, Roeding Elementary School and the Fig Garden Library. Irene made regular visits to the sick and elderly, and was always knitting blankets for the homeless. Irene was a woman of beauty, charm, and grace. Like her mother before her, she leaves a legacy of laughter, love and a profound faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Irene is survived by her son, Jim Setrakian; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Robert Barsoian; two grandchildren Darla Barsoian, and Joe Barsoian and his wife Lina; her great-grandchildren, Joshua and Sophie Barsoian; her half-brother, Dr. Martin Adams; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Northwest Church, on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to Evangel Home, 137 N.
