Larry Stanfield, age 66, of Visalia passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011, after a short illness. He was born on October 19, 1945, in Selma to James and Betty Jo Slater Stanfield, attended elementary school in Kingsburg and graduated from Kingsburg Joint Union High School. He attended Fresno State College. He worked most of his life in management for King Bearing, Orange Bearing and U.S. Bearings & Drives.
Sgt. James L. Stanfield served with the 4th Armored Division from 1965-1968 in Bamberg, Germany. Larry enjoyed anything having to do with the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. He was an avid horseman participating in team penning and cutting competitions in the western states. Golf was his latest passion.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Wayne Newport.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Hill-Stanfield of Visalia; daughter, Tracey Andrae' Stanfield-Epstein and her husband Matt of Coarsegold; sisters, Sandy Mastro of Clovis, and Cathy Newport Wagner and her husband Bill of Castle Rock, Co. He has many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Larry and to ride his horses.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Oak Valley School Auditorium, 24500 Rd. 68, Tulare, Ca., on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.
The family requests remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society, 2222 W. Shaw Suite 201, Fresno, Ca. 93711; or the Walnut Grove Community Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 93, Walnut Grove, Ca. 95690.
