JEROME KIRBY Obituary

Kevin passed away this past Christmas week, 2011. He was born in Seattle on October 2, 1969. Kevin graduated from Bullard High School in 1987. After receiving an associates degree from Fresno City College he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1996 and served on the USS Frank Cable in Guam as an Optical Man. He called the ship the "Unable Cable" because of how regularly it broke down. He was discharged in 2000. After the Navy, he worked for Sutherland for about three years and then attended San Diego State University where he double-majored in Mathmatics and Computer Science. He returned to Fresno where he worked as a database administrator for Richard Heath and Associates, Inc. Kevin was a terrific person. He was a son, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. He had a great sense of humor, and was always willing to lend a helping hand, as a true geek, he enjoyed Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, World of Warcraft and reading Science Fiction and Fantasy novels. His ability to pull random movie quotes out of his hat at any given moment was legendary, as was his extraordinary facility with mathematics. Kevin is survived by his mother, Judith Hall and step-father, Alan Hall; his father, John Kirby; his cat, Stinker, his brothers, John Kirby in Fresno and James Kirby of St. Louis, Mo. A Memorial Service will be held at the Neptune Society Chapel, 1154 W. Shaw Ave, in Fresno on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
