John was born in Sanger. He attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Clovis High School in 1941. After graduating, he worked as a welder at Kaiser shipyard in Richmond, Ca. In 1943, John joined the U.S. Air Force. He completed his basic training in Salt Lake City, Utah. He joined a B-24 group out of Tuscan, Az. Later, John changed to a B-29 squadron which trained in Batista, Cuba. Once he completed training in Cuba, John was transfered to 9th bombing group 5th squadron at Tinian, Mariana Island. In 1946 after serving in the Pacific Theater, he was honorably discharged at Camp Beale, Ca. Once back in the states, he married Frances Taube. John and Frances had three children: Bernadette Lewy, John Casey Jr., and Bill Casey. John went to work as a service manager for a new car dealership. He and Frances owned several beauty shops and Fay's Beauty College. John retired in 1985. Frances preceded John in death during 2001. He will be dearly missed by all as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and friend. John will always be remembered for his love of golf and being surrounded by his family. His quiet demeanor and wisdom will be missed. John is survived by his children and their spouses, RJ and Bernadette Lewy, they live in Dana Point, Ca., John MD and Bianca Casey, they live in Modesto, Ca., and Bill Casey, he lives in Fresno, Ca. He is also survived by his siblings, Helen Casey, Phil Casey, Nora Casey, they live in Fresno, Ca.' and by his many grandchildren, Britta Wichers, Rundi Luff, Marka Haack, John Casey III JD, Ryan Casey MD, Clark Casey, Clayton Casey MD, Derek Casey, Kyle Casey, Jake Casey, Hannah Casey, Heaven Casey, and Brianna Casey. Lastly, he is survived by his greatgrandchildren, Grant Haack, Noelle Haack, Phoebe Luff, Jude Luff, Dax Corcoran, Xander Corcoran, Niam Casey. Visitation will be at Chapel of the Light on Thursday, March 29, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Saint Peter's Cemetery on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.
