John Peterson Obituary
Macon, GA- John Beverly Peterson, Sr. passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014. A Celebration of his Life will be held at Ingleside Baptist Church on Monday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Burial services will be private for family only in Riverside Cemetery. Dr. Tim McCoy and Dr. Mark Hudgins will officiate. The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall of the church following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ingleside Baptist Church Building Fund, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon, GA 31204 or The Salvation Army, 1955 Broadway, Macon, GA 31201.

I worked with John and what a special person. He was always smiling and a pleasure to work around. He was part of our BB&T family and he will surely be missed !

I was the receptionist from 1991 to 2009( with a stint with commercial lines)Oh how I will miss John. He was such an influence in my life. He was extremely amused at my penchant for wrestling. So he started calling me MM back when we were at the old Sheraton Drive address. MM meant Masked Marauder or Motor Mouth..I think it was more so the latter. When I went into truck driving and firefighting, John would just shake his head.He wondered why a lady would go into these kinds of careers. At first I was sort of offened BUT I realized he actually paid me a terrific compliment--he considered me a lady. That is the ultimate compliment! John was a subtle and gracious man. I will miss him. He was such a true Southern Gentleman. A breed set apart from the rest. Barbara, my deepest condolences for you and your precious family.
