Fresno, California - Judith 'Judie' Dowling was born to John and Marjorie Cleary on December 11, 1941. She passed away in Fresno on May 13, 2021, at the age of 79.
Judie grew up in the San Joaquin Valley and attended San Joaquin Memorial High School. Judie was an accomplished cook, entertainer and gardener. She was always a good sport when it came to indulging Mike's love of the outdoors, whether camping, backpacking or fishing. Later in life, Judie and Mike spent much of their time at their second home in Cambria, California where Judie was a semi-regular in the Cambria Tennis Club.
Judie was predeceased by Mike in 2018, after 53 years of marriage. Judie is survived by her son, Michael Dowling; daughter, Kathleen Dowling; daughter-in-law Molly Friel-Dowling; grandchildren, Patrick Dowling, William Dowling, Cara Dowling and Bridget Dowling; brother Mike Cleary and sister Mary Alessandrelli.

I just learned of Judie’s passing. I was her hairstylist for 17 years. Judie was a dear friend. She shared every aspect of her life with me. I loved her like a Grandma. I am heartbroken that she is gone. I wish I could have been there for her in her final days. She was so full of life and spunk and was one of the kindest people I know. She will be dearly missed.

I was blessed to have known Judie as a close friend for a long time. She was a great hostess, generous with her time for her friends, and a special, dedicated wife and mother. I know she is at rest with the angels above.
