Fresno, California - Julio Moreno Sr., age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at his home in Fresno, CA after a long illness.
He was born July 13, 1944 in Yuma, AZ on the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation close to the banks of the Colorado River to his parents, Rumaldo Ortega Moreno and Magdalena Coz who are Papago Indians.
Julio left Yuma, AZ with his brother Ernest Moreno at a young age for a better life in California.
Julio held many jobs in his life and finally retired from Sunnyside Packing in Selma, CA after 40 years of devoted service as Senior Fork Lift driver. Julio truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; tending to his many fruit trees, spending time with friends, family & many grandchildren. Julio had a sense of humor we all loved and he touched many peoples lives in a deep and positive way throughout his life.
He is survived by his second wife, Alice Alonzo-Moreno and her family; a sister, Magdalena Moreno-Robles and her family; 3rd son, Michael Moreno and his family; first wife, Marcella Stockbridge-Metzler and her family; 1st son, Julio Moreno Jr. and his family; daughter, Agena Moreno-Johnson and her family; 2nd son, Ernest Moreno and his family; many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and many family not mentioned.
At the request of Julio and the family, no funeral services will be held.
