Lavonia Morrison Obituary

Lavonia "Voni" Morri-son, born January 10, 1938, died on Monday, August 18, 2008, at her home while peacefully at sleep. Voni led a won-derful life in her 70 years. While she worked at Arkansas Best Freight-ways for 27 years, she was better known as the co-author of two very famous country-western songs, Act Naturally and Making Plans. Voni sur-vived her husband of 39 years, J.B. Morrison, who passed away in 1992.

During her lifetime in Fresno, Voni raised two children, her son, Dennis Morrison and her daugh-ter, Jaelene Morrison-Morris. She is also sur-vived by her only grand-child, Jason Lee Dodd. In addition to her immediate family, Voni is also survived by her mother, Annie Irene Quindt; her brother, Hollis Key; her sisters, Helen Turney and Beverly Hageman. Also surviving Voni are her uncle, Herbert Mc Lelan; her aunts, Leola Martin and Lula Faye Key; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 'L' Street on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.
