LISA MAUK Obituary

Lisa Mauk, beloved wife and mother, passed away on March 27, 2018, after a two year battle with cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and most of all love. Lisa was born to Dave and Carol Costello, the eldest of three children. It was while playing school with her brother, Ed, that she decided at a very young age that she was going to be a teacher. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1976, and later received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from California State University, Fresno. She fulfilled her childhood dream and began teaching in 1985 at Rowell Elementary School in Fresno, CA. During her 33 years teaching, her colleagues at Rowell became a second family. Lisa had two children, Joanna and Jordan, with her first husband Scott. She loved her children and her granddaughter, Glenna, to the moon and back. In 2000, Lisa married Joe. Together, they traveled the globe, The United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, and places in between. Lisa knew every episode of I Love Lucy by heart and much to her family's chagrin, never missed an episode of Dr. Phil. She excelled at buying yarn and was even known to crochet from time to time. She had a talent for always picking out the best birthday cards, and baking the perfect cookie. Lisa was preceded in death by her sister Bren; and her father Dave. She is survived by her husband Joe; her children, Jordan, and Joanna and her husband Jason; and her granddaughter Glenna. She is also survived by her mother Carol; her brother Ed and his wife Lynn, and her brother-in-law Ron. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, loved ones, and dear friends. Lisa was the best wife, mama, grandma, daughter, sister, friend, and teacher any of us could wish for. A Celebration of Lisa's Life will be held at 1257 W. San Bruno Ave., Fresno, CA, on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Compassion Team of California, where Lisa adopted her dearly loved dog Harry.

Sounds like you have many pleasant memories of a very good woman. My thoughts are with you. "A good woman is hard to find,
and worth far more than diamonds.
Her husband trusts her without reserve,
and never has reason to regret it."
