PORTIA THOMPSON Obituary

Portia, age 37, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, after a long battle with liver disease. She attended Bullard High School and then finished her education in Hawaii. She became a Radiologic Technologist at Fresno City College and then began her career at Valley Children's Hospital. Portia is survived by her husband, Mike Thompson; parents, Millie Morris and Gary Touchstone; grandfather, Ollie Touchstone; sister, Mercedes Larson and her husband, Kelly and their sons Kai and Reece; brother, Jett; brother-in-law, Steve Thompson; sister-in-law, Megan Schultz and her husband Mike and their children, Catherine, Claire, and John; and parents-in-law, Rich and Lois Harmon. Portia was an inspiration to everyone she met. She loved God and loved life and lived it to the fullest in spite of her health struggles. She had a sweet spirit. We will miss her tremendously! A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Northside Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that in honor of Portia, remembrances be made to California Transplant Donor Network, 1000 Broadway, Suite 600, Oakland, CA 94607.

Dear Portia,

It is so surreal to look at your picture, and realize that you have passed from this life. I find myself struggling to hold back my tears as I am trying to grasp the world without you in it. You were a gift, Portia, I believe not only to me,but to many other people whose paths you have crossed. Your fun,loving,vivacious personality; your infectious smile and your uplifting spirit remains in the memory of all of us whose paths were graced with your presence and made colorful by your friendship. Rest in peace my dear friend, and know that you will be lovingly missed.
Mike, Mom, Mercedes and family,I am so sorry for your loss, but I pray that you all take comfort in the knowledge that Portia is with the Lord and that she is no longer in pain, and that she is now whole. Dearest little cousin Portia and all her family ,
Our hearts all go out to all of you during this time of sadness and grief. Po had a beautiful life with such a blessed family and friends who all loved her sooo very much. arrived at CHCC to start your journey as a technologist. you were a delightful soul and very social and just was just everyone's friend. I remember telling you that you acted like my little sister and what I did

Gary, Mercedes, Ollie and all family and friends. Portia's time came and went too fast. Life does that now and then. We are left behind to ask a question without an answer, Why? Portia's purpose may not be known by us but it is known to God. My prayers are for all to know there was a purpose and Portia served hers. May we all discover these purposes thru God.
