Randy McCool Obituary

RANDY GENE McCOOL "Candyman" Randy Gene McCool, the Candyman of Candyman Vending, born in Fresno on November 18, 1965, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at the age of 41. A hardworking boy who sold doughnuts at school to his friends became a hardworking man and owner of Candyman Vending which he started 16 years ago. He enjoyed 21 years of marriage with his childhood sweetheart, Lorraine Cantu McCool. As a faithful and loving son, husband, father, friend and member of Sonrise Baptist Church, he fought hard to stay here with family and friends, but he saw a perfect peace by going Home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Randy held these verses of comfort closely in his last days "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge" Psalm 18:2 "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." John 14:18 He will be missed greatly as he was loved by all who knew him. Randy is survived by his loving wife Lorraine of Fresno; son, Jeremy McCool, ITSN; daughter, Amanda McCool, both of Fresno; his parents, Kenneth and Darla McCool of Coarsegold, California; and his sisters, Suzzanne Broom of Salinas, California, Suzzette Nieto of Poway, California, Keri Burhans of Burrough Valley, California and Kathleen Wallace of Lemoore, California. Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home on Monday, January 15, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Sonrise Church on Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to Sonrise Church, 3105 Locan, Clovis, CA 93619. I was deeply saddened when I learned of Randy's passing but I am comforted in knowing where Randy is today.
I had not seen Randy in several years until one evening in June 2006 Randy tapped me on the shoulder after the Clovis High graduation. We spoke for a few minutes and one thing stood out from our short visit, Randy was proud of his kids.
After 35+ years of knowing Randy & 25+ years of knowing Lorraine I have been blessed.
You and the kids are in my thoughts and prayers each day Lorraine.

I worked 15 yrs. ago at a place where I met Randy and Lorraine. Since then, I am employed downtown and have run into the "Candyman" here in the heart of Fresno and have never forgot his smiling face nor that huge black truck with yellow writing "Candyman" on it. He was thought about by who ever met Randy. He will be greatly missed but we will meet again someday for those of us in Christ!
I am saddened by his passing and really don't know what to say. God Bless Lorraine and the kids and the Lords peace be with them.

I am very sad to hear about Randy. He has vending machines at my place of employment, Betts Spring Co., so I have known him for many years. He always had a smile on his face and nothing but good things to say. I will miss seeing him. My prayers are with you and your family.

To the Family of Randy,

Randy was a pleasure to take care. Many of us here on 3west wanted to attend his service but were unable to get the day off work. We will be thinking of you and praying for you through this difficult time. He had a great attitude even when he was feeling so poorly.
