Reberta Stanfield Obituary

REBERTA L. STANFIELD Born August 26, 1946 Passed Away July 5, 2006 Reberta Lee Stanfield, age 59, of Fresno, died on Wednesday at University Medical Center in Fresno. Mrs. Stanfield was a native of Los Angeles and had lived in Fresno for over 30 years. She was employed seasonally with the Internal Revenue Service and previously worked in the retail and wholesale grocery business for more than 20 years. Reberta was dedicated to the care of her grandson, Michael John McAndrew and, with her husband John, created a home for him that they affectionately called "Mikie's World." Reberta was legendary for her hospitality and especially so at Thanksgiving which was her favorite holiday. In her spare time, Reberta enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping, traveling (her latest passion was cruising) and spending time with her family. Reberta gave abundantly of her time, resources and attention to her entire family and her friends. She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. She is survived by John Stanfield of Fresno, her husband of 30 years; children, Kathy Tigchelaar of Fresno, David Stanfield of Fresno, Michael Hicks of Modesto, Michelle Hicks of Fresno, and Kirstina Ringer of Fresno; mother, Gladys Bass of Fresno; and nine grandchildren.
