Robert L. Nabors was born March 27, 1933, in Elk City, Oklahoma, and passed away after a very brief illness on Sunday, January 4, 2009.
Robert's family moved to California, when he was a small boy and he grew up with his five brother's and two sisters in Caruthers, California. While stationed in Florida with the U.S. Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Anne E. Hauser. They married in Jacksonville, Florida, on June 30, 1956, and settled down to raise their family in Clovis, California. He worked for 35 years in the valley for Nabisco-Lifesavers, as a sales representative.
He is preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Anne; his parents, Robert and Johnie Nabors; brother, Ed Nabors; sisters, Geneva Claborn and Martha Gallyer.
He is survived by his daughters, Pam Nabors, Patricia King and her husband Jim; son, Brent Nabors and his wife Julie; his brothers, Kegal, Bill, Ron and Dean Nabors; and nine grandchildren who lovingly called him "Papa Moo."
Recitation of the Holy Rosary, will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home, on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest with his beloved Anne immediately following at the Clovis Cemetery.
