Fresno, California - Roger was born on May 19, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan, and passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in Fresno, California.
In February of 1965 he married his loving wife, Brenda Haas. Together, they raised two children, Quinn and Kent Boman. Roger is also survived by his daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Melissa, as well as six loving grandchildren: Zachary, Hailee, Brooke, Blake, Meg, and Trevor.
Roger had an illustrious professional career that started in the late 1970s and early 1980s. At this time, he met Don Smith and they together started Smith Boman and Associates. Roger Boman was known as one of the pioneers of the crop insurance industry. Roger not only insured crops, but also was a grower himself as he was a raisin farmer and citrus grower. He was eventually able to expand the family farm business and enjoyed working in the Ag Industry. Roger had a great sense of pride in being a grower because the result of hard work was tangible. He serviced a variety of growers over the years and developed relationships with those that he served. Also in 1985, he founded Transwestern Insurance Administrators. All these businesses are a significant part of Roger's legacy that has been passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Roger was the son of the late Donald and Phyllis Boman. Roger was also preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Boman.
Services will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home. The viewing will be held on April 25, 2023, from 3:00-7:00 PM. The funeral will be held on April 26, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
