RONALD W. "Doc Richards" RICHARDS

Ron was born in Bakersfield, CA on October 28,1947, to Oscar and Doris Richards. He passed away on July 5, 2014, with his family at his side. Ron was raised in Buttonwillow, graduated from Shafter High School, attended Bakersfield Junior College, and served four years in the U. S. Air Force before graduating from San Jose State University and Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. He opened his Chiropractic Office in Fresno in 1982 and practiced for over 30 years. During this time he accompanied LIGA, Flying Doctors of Mercy, to Mexico several times. He was an avid fly fisherman and bird hunter and an active member of Fly Fishers for Conservation for over 20 years, He took great pride in his work with the committee to save the Kings River. He is survived by his wife Anne; and their daughters, Kristina and her daughters, Hadley, Ryann, and Lilliana, and Cynthia and her daughter Kira; and sons, Daniel and David. He is also survived by his mother Doris; his sister Nita; his brother Tom (Sandi); and numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends. A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held at the Sportsman's Club, 10645 N. Lanes Road, Fresno, on Saturday, August 2, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please come share your favorite memory with Ron's friends and family.
