RUBY RUIZ

On November 26, 2011 a very special young lady left us to take her place in heaven. Ruby passed, at the age of 21, while stationed at Ft. Benning in Columbus, Georgia. She took much pride in serving her country as an Army Specialist E-4 Bridge Crew Member. Ruby was born on December 29, 1989 in Selma, California. She was raised and attended schools in Fowler, California, where she graduated from Fowler High School in 2008. In the short amount of time that she was with us, she lived life to the fullest. She participated in band, track and basketball while in school. Ruby was a very good athlete. She loved to play basketball and assisted in bringing to Fowler High School a championship season. After graduation she played some college ball and then worked as a forest firefighter before enlisting in the U.S. Army. While in the Army, she represented Ft. Benning as a boxer and earned a championship win in her division. She is preceded in death by her father, George Ruiz, Sr. She will never be forgotten and always live in the hearts of her mother, Grace Ruiz and Step-Father Ray Santillan; her brothers, George Ruiz, Jr., Gilbert Ruiz, Ray Ruiz, Raymond Jacob Santillan and Marcus Santillan; her sisters, Roxanne Ruiz, Christine Fuentes, and Tonya Santillan; and numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the Community of Fowler and the staff of Fowler Unified School District, along with the employees of National Raisin and all of her brothers and sisters in-arms for all their thoughts, prayers, and good will during this difficult time. Visitation will be held at the Fowler Presbyterian Church, on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Church Service will be held at the Fowler Presbyterian Church, on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.
