I'm sorry I missed the service, Steven.
I remember Steven and Eric Temple being good friends and probably the smartest boys at Morris E Dailey Elementary in those years. He was a friendly kid and a little guarded, being that he was “gifted.” We didn't yet use the current terms for intelligent people back then.
It wasn't until the early 80's, and through an entirely new group of friends that I learned of Stevens' notoriety as a keyboard player and that he liked the same music and bands that I had come to appreciate… I mean where can someone who cut his teeth on 70's rock and roll go once you gain a certain level of proficiency, right?
I have passed on the news to others as it was passed to me,a ripple moving through past and future.
I noticed Steppenwolf on your Facebook page Steven…is that you in the first paragraph of page 9?

Steve was initially, just a band mate, 12 years older than me, so we didn't immediately have a lot in common, other than the music. Steve mentored me in music and in computer science and over the years our friendship grew strong. Eventually Steve would work with me on commercial software and even lived with me in Fullerton for a short time. Steve was very intelligent with a great sense of humor and appreciation of literature and history. Steve's music and friendship were precious to me and I will miss him dearly. -Rob

It is very hard to say goodbye to loved ones, even it is a short goodbye until we meet in heaven. Love to you and your family.

One of the first movies I saw with Steve was Hamlet, it was so nice to watch it with him that I didn't even notice it was four hours long!
