Susan Alves Obituary

SUSAN A. ALVES Apr 1, 1949 - Jan 3, 2005 Sue Alves, daughter of Berl and Anna Frazzini of Fresno, died on Monday, January 3, 2005, after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. After graduating from Bullard High School, she attended Santa Clara University where she met her loving husband, Rick Alves. They were married at the Santa Clara Mission and made their life in San Jose and later Gilroy, where she spent her last days with Rick, their two wonderful sons, Chad Alves and Ryan Alves, also of Gilroy, and her beloved brother, Stephen Frazini of West Hartford, CT. She leaves behind many grieving members of her family, especially her brother's wife, Sheila Huddleston of West Hartford, CT; and two special nieces, Sarah Frazzini of Brooklyn, NY and Alison Frazzini, a student at Yale University; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dick and Kay Alves of San Jose; and brother-in-law, Ron Alves and his wife Sandy and nephew Josh of Rohnert Park. Sue was an Emergency Room nurse at Kaiser Santa Teresa in San Jose for 28 years, and mostrecently had worked for Kaiser in Outside Services. A caregiver as a professional and especially as a person, Sue was often called on angel by those whom she touched. Her faith always gave her strength end nothing could limit her spirit for life. Sue loved traveling with Rick, family, and friends, and she loved all things related to her family. Her favorite places were Hawaii, Carmel, and Lake Tahoe. She was a long-time resident of Gilroy and San Jose after marrying Rick at Santa Clara Mission in 1971. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at the Santa Clara Mission Church, on the grounds of Santa Clara University, on Monday, January 10, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow immediately afterward at the Adobe Lounge adjacent to the Mission. Her final resting place will be Los Gatos Memorial Park with her beloved mother and father, Berl and Anna Frazini. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in Sue's name. Lima Family Erickson Mortuary San Jose, CA (408)295-5160

Dear Rick, Chad and Ryan, Watch the old movie, GONE WITH THE WIND. Sue reminded me so much of Melanie...never a mean word, never an unkind thought. Sue was one of the most giving, helpful, and upbeat women to cross our paths. It is an honor to have been a friend of hers. You boys better be good, she's still watching you! With great love,
