Toshio Kawamoto Obituary

Toshio Kawamoto was born on September 3, 1917, in Fowler, California, and passed away on Friday, October 19, 2007, at the age of 90. Tosh farmed all his life, growing and sharing his delicious fruits and vegetables. He was a committed leader of the Buddhist Church, both at the local and national levels. He enjoyed playing golf until his 80's and always looked forward to seeing his buddies at Honda's Garage. He blessed us all with his engaging personality and sense of humor. He is survived by Tomoko, his loving wife of 63 years; children, Jeanne Demsey and her husband James, June Zink and her husband Howard, Robert Kawamoto and his wife Irene, Edith Frederick and her husband David, Nancy Kawamoto, and Deanna Hanashiro and her husband Robert; and grandchildren, Tosh Demsey and his wife Ger, Clayton Frederick, Kaili Zink, Darin Toshi Kawamoto, and Emma Hanashiro. He is also survived by sisters, Ruth Yoshiki, Eiko Yoshiki, Ayako Yatabe and her husband Joe, Setsuko Minabe; sister-in-law, Pauline Kawamoto; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Buddhist Church of Fowler, 210 S. 9th, Fowler on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. LISLE FUNERAL HOME Fresno, Ca.
