June 12, 1943 - July 26, 2025
Long time Wasilla resident, Shannon Carpenter, 81 passed away on July 26, 2025, peacefully at her residence.
There will be a Celebration of Life Aug. 9 2025 4 p.m. at Kings Chapel 3301 E. Parks Hwy.
Shannon arrived in Alaska from Michigan at age 2 and grew up at the experimental farm in Palmer, her father's place of employment.
Shannon was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Wasilla Assembly of God and was loved by many in the valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Carpenter in 1978 and oldest son Sean Carpenter in 2022.
She is survived by her youngest son and daughter-in-law Brendan and Jody Carpenter and two grandchildren, Kevin and Olivia Carpenter.

So sorry for your loss. Shannon was a Palmer High 1961 graduate and friend to many. We had a great childhood in Palmer growing up, bicycling to each others home, going to Rainbow Girls, going to summer camp at King's Lake Camp, going to Girl Scouts, going to school functions, all with memories of Shannon. RIP my friend.
