AJ Nance Obituary
AJ was a 1967 graduate of Emma Sansom High School. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1967.
He served as a military policeman in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, and Göppingen, Germany. While serving in Maryland, he stood honor guard for Robert F. Kennedy. He received an accommodation medal for his service. AJ was honorably discharged in August of 1970.
AJ worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 32 years. After retirement, he spent his time following his five grandchildren play ball and cheer.
He is survived by his daughter, Alison (Jamie) Correll; and son, Joey (Dana) Nance; grandchildren, Peyton, Britain and Bennett Nance, and Jaycie and Austin Correll.
Family would like to thank Liz Nance, Crysta Robertson and Amedisys Hospice staff.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gadsden City High School Varsity Baseball and Varsity Cheerleading Programs at 1917 Black Creek Parkway, Gadsden AL 35904; and Etowah High School Baseball and Football Programs at 201 Case Ave. S.E., Attalla, AL 35954
There will be no funeral service.
