Anthony Turner, Gadsden, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016. Funeral service is at noon Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Weathers officiating. Burial is in Lincoln Hill Cemetery. Service by professionals, Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie and Mentory Turner; father, Martin Whisenant; stepfather, Louis Littlefield Jr.; and sister, Felicia Taylor. He leaves cherished memories for his wife, Wanda Turner; daughter, Teneita Glover; son, Marquise Hester; two stepdaughters; two stepsons; one stepgrandson; mother, Betty Turner Littlefield, New York City, New York; two sisters, Lashonda Littlefield, New York City, and Addie Whisenant, Washington, D.C.; brothers, Mario Jackson and Louis Littlefield; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law, Mobile, Alabama, and Brian Taylor, Gadsden; uncle, Henry (Bertha) Turner; four aunts, Sarah Smith (Dewrell) Sr., Dorothy Watson, Cornelia Griffith and Earlene Turner; special cousin like an uncle, Edward Turner Jr. (Diane); five nieces; one great-niece; one nephew; godmother, Earnestine Frazier; special companion, Ms. Felicia Kinard and children; special neighbor, Ms. Mary Rowe; and a host of cousins and friends.
Public viewing will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour before the service.
