Hoyt Johnson Obituary
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He was a 1956 graduate of Emma Sansom High School and attended the University of Alabama.
Before moving back to Gadsden, he lived in Scottsboro for 35 years and worked at Revere Copper and Brass and Norandal. He also served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Liz (Boyd) Johnson; sons, Joey (Jennifer) Johnson, David Johnson; special friend, Trina Johnson, all of Scottsboro and Michael (Sonya) Johnson, Grant; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt Sr. and Sarah Johnson; and granddaughter, Brooke Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church/school or your favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be Joey, David, Michael and Blake Johnson, Charles Brackett, Max Watson, Dale Garner, Arland Gibbs.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerrell Yother, H.M. Carnes, Johnny Gargus and all personal friends.
Special thanks to Lawley Hospice, Dr. O. Akisanya, Dr. Jason Ayers, Stacey, Barbie, Rhonda and all of the Lawley Hospice team.
Graveside service only. There will be no visitation.
