John Carlisle Obituary

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 p.m. tonight at Morgan Funeral Chapel for John R. Carlisle, 70, Rainbow City, who died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011. Father Gray Bean and Pastor Larry Fuhrman officiated. On-site cremation provided by Morgan Crematory. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.
Mr. Carlisle was a lifetime blood donor for the American Red Cross. He played half back and was co-captain of the Ashville High School Football Team (Class of 1959). John worked for 41 years at the Gulf States-Republic Steel plant. He loved spending time with his family and friends and on the Coosa River, and he'll be remembered as a hard worker who always had time to help his neighbors. Mr. Carlisle was preceded in death by his parents, E.C. Sr. and Christine Carlisle; brother, E.C. "Sonny" Carlisle; brother-in-law, Earl Bean.
Survivors: sons, Mark (Carol) Carlisle and Paul (Paige) Carlisle; daughter, Kelly (Danny) D'Eath; sister, Janet Bean; sister-in-law, Shirley Carlisle Vest; grandchildren, Sydney and Jared D'Eath, Sara Carlisle, Chris (Kelley) Thompson, Justin Dole and Daniel McKinney; great-grandchildren, Katherine and Alex Thompson; beloved friend, Linda Cordle; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to Toys for Tots at the Rainbow City Fire Department.
The family will accept friends from 4 to 6 this evening prior to the service.
