Leo Blackburn Obituary

Memorial services were at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Collier-Butler Parlor for Mr. Leo M. Blackburn, 93, Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009. The Rev. Shane Coppock officiated and eulogy was given by Dale Blackburn. Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Blackburn was a native of DeKalb County and a longtime resident of Etowah County. He was a member of East Gadsden Church of God and had retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roy Blackburn.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Verna Blackburn; daughter, Sue Bragg; son, Dale Blackburn; daughter-in-law, Sue Lynn Blackburn; son-in-law, Jimmy Bragg; grandchildren, Joe Lynn Bragg, Debbie Bradley, Danny Blackburn, Mickey Blackburn, Sherri Blackburn, Tammy Blackburn, Suzette Shirley, Gina Wood, Jeff Stephens, Kim Valdaz and Sheilda Stephens; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Louise Wright.
