Mildred Darnell Obituary

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Mildred Louise Darnell, Gadsden, who passed away on Monday, April 30, 2007. The Rev. Joe Nix will officiate. Burial in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.

Mrs. Darnell was an employee at Gadsden Health Care for more than 35 years as a C.N.A. She was a life-long resident of Etowah County and was of the Baptist faith. Mildred was a hard worker and a loving and devoted mother of five. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Darnell; parents, Robert Alex Jones and Henreitta Jones; and brothers, Virgil Jones, Vernon Jones, James Jones, Carl Jones and Gaylon Jones.

She is survived by her sons, Robert E. (Terrie) Darnell and David (Billie) Darnell; daughters, Judy A. (Don) Bacon, Linda G. Darnell and Joan M. (Guillermo) Gutierrez; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lamar (Mary) Darnell; sister-in-law, Nannie (Billy Jean) Brown; and a nephew, Danny (Libbie) Brown.

Pallbearers will be Michael Darnell, Jason Nail, Kevin Nail, Brandon Darnell, Dakota Rice and Guillermo Gutierrez.

Special thanks to the staff of Gadsden Regional Medical Center ICU 8th floor, to the staff of Regional Medical Center in Anniston and especially to William R. Lester, who was a very special employer to our mother for so many years.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.

Dear Linda and Family, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mother and our co-worker. She always had a smile and went out of her way to make the residents happy. She has been trully missed since her illness and will not be forgottened. God Bless.
